THE STORY
A screen is judged by what it lets through. The Void Screen is a cellular lattice — hundreds of through-openings in a bone-coloured panel, 2.4 metres tall — and every opening has a rounded return on every edge, so light bends through it instead of cutting.
That rounding is why it is moulded and not CNC-cut. A router leaves flat, square sides in a timber panel; here the entire panel with all its openings comes out of one tool, and the edges are soft because the mould is soft. Panels align edge to edge with floor and ceiling shoes, so a run of four becomes one continuous field.
31 kilograms per panel, flat-crated, four to a crate. It zones a restaurant without closing it, and is the piece that architects ask about first.
WHY FIBERGLASS
Hundreds of through-openings with rounded returns on every edge. CNC in timber leaves flat sides; here the whole panel comes out of one tool.
